Favorite ab move: Bar rollouts

How to do it: “Grab a power wheel or a bar with 25-pound weights on each end,” says Gaddour. “Start in a kneeling position with your hands on the bar and slowly begin to roll the bar or wheel away from you until you reach a plank position. Hold for a few seconds and roll back to start, and then repeat.” Do 3 sets of 20 reps. If they’re too hard, do 10 reps.
Why it works: Rollouts work the abdominals in conjunction with the lat muscles without the unnecessary, repeated flexion of the spine that occurs with crunches, which can lead to discomfort, and neck and shoulder pain.
