I ran track in high school. I was a fragile young man, personally and physically. I tried football. That didn't work out; I broke my collarbone. But I always loved running.

Last year, I did speedwork at a local high school. A couple of students said, "Oh, Abed [Pudi's character in Community] is sprinting!" They figured I was losing my mind because I kept doing repeats. I was like, "It's not Abed. It's Danny who's losing his mind."

After reading "Born to Run", I started running barefoot in a park once or twice a week. Sometimes I step in bird droppings, which isn't good for traction. But it's fun, and it makes me feel like a kid again.
If it were up to me, I'd run naked. I'd wear sunglasses. People won't recognize me with glasses. You would see a barefoot guy with shoes on his hands, naked with sunglasses, singing weird Polish songs.
When I run barefoot, I put my shoes on my hands. Running around with shoe-hands looks a little weird.
